My Review

Lowcountry Book Club is the fifth book in the Liz Talbot Mystery series by Susan M. Boyer. This is the second book of Boyer's that I have read. It did help to read one of the earlier books as I was familiar with the relationships in Liz Talbot's...her husband and her ghost friend (I'm not really a fan of  ghosts in books but it was not overwhelming).

I love the setting of the Lowcountry Book Club. I love Charleston and the surrounding area. The author Boyer has a deep understanding and love of the area that shines through on the pages. The characters are also very interesting. The 100 year old book club was very fascinating. All the up and coming women of Charleston were dying to join.

Liz and her husband-partner are hired by a Charleston law firm to prove that their client is innocent. Their client's wife was pushed out a second floor window and died. Their client, the husband, is the most obvious candidate for the murder as he had the most to benefit. Or did he. Could the answer be lurking in the high society book club?

Great cozy mystery. You'll enjoy this series as well as Lowcountry Book Club if you are a cozy fan. You don't need to have read the earlier books to enjoy Lowcountry Book Club.
